Welcome to the ControlWORQ Administration Guide

ControlWORQ (formerly SCOPE and JRE for TM1/Applix TM1 Consolidations) complements and extends IBM Cognos Planning Analytics (formerly TM1) by providing a framework of controls that facilitate financial reporting. ControlWORQ provides the following key features:

  • Controlled, balanced, authorized and auditable journal entries
  • Automated recurring and reversing journals
  • Journals can be posted individually or in a batch
  • Reconciliation reporting for intercompany balances
  • Automatic eliminating journals of intercompany balances
  • Real-time visibility of the impact of journal entries in IBM Cognos Planning Analytics

ControlWORQ consists of a server component that exposes web services, which provide a common framework that can be accessed by multiple client components:

  • ControlWORQ Web Client: ControlWORQ also has a web application, which provides users with the ability to create their journal entries using a web interface. The web interface also includes basic ControlWORQ journal reports and the intercompany reconciliation and elimination functionality.

  • ControlWORQ Excel Add-In: This add-in provides users with the ability to design their journal entries using Microsoft Excel, as well as post those entries to Planning Analytics using the ControlWORQ server. Entries created and posted using this method are still accessible through the ControlWORQ Web client.

This administration guide is designed to help ControlWORQ administrators of all levels to install, configure, and manage the ControlWORQ server components.
