ControlWORQ Web Client User Guide

This section provides instructions for using the ControlWORQ Web client, which is the web interface included with ControlWORQ Server.

System Requirements - Web Client

Hardware Requirements

The ControlWORQ web client communicates with Planning Analytics via the ControlWORQ Server. Since the application runs within a web browser, there are no additional hardware requirements beyond what would be needed to run Windows and a web browser normally, for example:

Processor
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86- or x64-bit processor

Memory
1 gigabyte (GB) or more of installed RAM

Disk Space
Disk space requirements are nominal for a web application like the ControlWORQ web client; please refer to your web browser disk requirements.

Monitor/Screen Resolution
The ControlWORQ web client is best run at a resolution of 1024x768 or higher.

Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 7 (all editions, 32 or 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 and 8.1 (all editions, 32 or 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 (all editions, 32 or 64-bit)
  • Server Operating Systems (all editions)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016

⚠️ Note: We strongly recommend applying all critical Microsoft updates and installing any available service packs before using the ControlWORQ web client.

Web Browser
The ControlWORQ Web client supports the following major web browsers:

  • Google Chrome 28 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox 17 or higher
  • Safari 5.1 or higher

Connecting to ControlWORQ - Web Client

This topic covers the steps required to connect to a ControlWORQ Server (and Planning Analytics Server) from the ControlWORQ Web Client.

Connecting to a Planning Analytics Server

To connect to the Planning Analytics and ControlWORQ Server, open a supported web browser and navigate to the ControlWORQ web site, for example:

http://server.company.com/ControlWORQ/
You will be prompted to log on to a Planning Analytics Server - ControlWORQ always makes sure you are logged in to a Planning Analytics Server in order to have the full protection of Planning Analytics security:

  1. A list of Planning Analytics servers that the ControlWORQ Server can see is provided in the Server Name drop down
  2. Select the Planning Analytics Server that you would like to log into; ControlWORQ can be configured to display a specific Planning Analytics Server, by default
  3. Enter your CAM Namespace (if applicable), Planning Analytics User ID, and Password
  4. Click Logon to login to the Planning Analytics Server and ControlWORQ Server
