Welcome to the ControlWORQ User Guide¶
ControlWORQ complements and extends IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) by providing a framework of controls that facilitate financial reporting. ControlWORQ provides the following key features:
- Controlled, balanced, authorized and auditable journal entries
- Automated recurring and reversing journals
- Journals can be posted individually or in a batch
- Reconciliation reporting for intercompany balances
- Automatic eliminating journals of intercompany balances
- Real-time visibility of the impact of journal entries in IBM Cognos Planning Analytics
ControlWORQ consists of a server component that provides a common application platform that can be accessed by multiple client components:
-
ControlWORQ Web Client: ControlWORQ has a web application, which provides users with the ability to create their journal entries using a web interface. The web interface also includes basic ControlWORQ journal reports and the intercompany reconciliation and elimination functionality.
-
ControlWORQ Excel Add-In: ControlWORQ has an Excel add-in, which provides users with the ability to design their journal entries using Microsoft Excel, as well as post those entries to Planning Analytics using the ControlWORQ server. Entries created and posted using this method are still accessible through the ControlWORQ Web client.
The installation and configuration of the ControlWORQ Server is covered in a separate guide. To help get you started with this guide, please access some of the following topics:
